HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

They carved such great pumpkins, I was jealous. Mine was.... less impressive.

Twenty-Five.

Autumn colors, Autumn clothes.

Borrowed these boots from the girl we stayed with. Fell in love with them almost as much as I fell in love with Autumn.

A butterfly can have scars too.

Sorry this will be short, but I thought the title would say a lot.

I have to be up in a little under six hours, we're off to North Carolina! I hope I can update this every night, but if I can't, I promise to come back with a BIG picture post!!

I hope everyone had a great weekend!!

Love, Emily.

I Live Here.

I got this book for Christmas last year from a friend. Most of it was very hard to read, some if it I even related to in ways, but overall, a very very inspirational book. I'll post the link to the website, I hope it touches you like it did me.

Nineteen.

Reflective Tea.

(the reason I called it reflective tea is because you can kind of see my reflection in the glass table while i was taking the picture.)

Warm tea to soothe a sore throat, open shades to let in the natural light, and a glass table with a layer of dust. Oh how I need to windex.

2 more days until my trip to North Carolina!

Eighteen.

Meet Oliver! My beautiful orange kitty.

This is Oliver's story:

One day we were walking out of the grocery story, and this pitiful kittens meow filled our ears. We turned and saw a manager of the store holding this tiny kitten, with a bent ear, flea-infested, and the bottom of his feet all bloody. Our hearts instantly melted, so Nikki turned to me and said "Can we keep him?". I hesitated, and ultimately decided on no, we couldn't possibly take in a cat when we could barely afford to feed ourselves at this time, and he looked sick, like he was going to die. She sighed and said okay. On our walk home, neither of us could really get the kitten off our minds. He was so tiny, so hungry, and we wondered who would take him in while in such poor condition. We opened the door to the apartment, set our bags of groceries down, and once again, Nikki looked at me. "Can we please keep him." I was worried he would die, and I knew as soon as I laid eyes on him I would be attached, and I was nervous. She assured me he'd be fine, assured me he wouldn't die, and I caved. Nikki ran as fast as she could to the store, and came back 45 minutes later with a very large bag of cat food, baby shampoo, kitty litter, and this tiny, flea infested, crying kitten. He was an orphan. His Mother gone, all alone in this world, and he had orange fur. So naturally, we called him "Oliver", from the musical. I'm happy to say that, although he may be a little skittish, he's turned out just fine. No longer flea-infested, but his bent ear is a scar that tells his story. He's our little/big fighter. :-)

I do believe in faeries!

This is a very last minute post, I have to get ready to go to work, poo. This picture reminds me of what an enchanted forest might look like to faeries. I can imagine being so tiny and flying around or even living in these beautiful flowers(?). Of course I'd have to watch out for bees and spiders rather than drunk drivers and mall speed-walkers. Hmm...

I hope everyone has a great day! I'll return all your comments when I get off!

Sixteen.

Fever dreams and a hole in my sweater.

Still not feeling well, but thank you everyone for the 'well' wishes!

I went to the movies on Monday night and saw Paranormal Activity, did anyone else go see that? I still can't wait to see Where the Wild Things Are!! I hope it's amazing.

It's all a mystery.

I woke up sick this morning, I've had a headache all day, and I'm so weak. I'm going to take tylenol and go to sleep, I hope everyone is having a great week so far! <3

Bath Time part 2.

I forgot to tell everyone in my previous post that the old lady who asked me to help her find an outfit for her date came in and told me what a 'charming' man he had turned out to be, and that she was seeing him again on Thursday! That made me so happy!

Happy Monday everyone, hope it's a great start to your week!

Thirteen.

Chilly Florida nights.

Just a candid shot, nothing fancy.

Remember my jealousy over everyone who is getting the endure the cold weather? Well I take it back! What was I thinking?? It's 64 degrees outside and I'm complaining like a little baby. Dear Warmth, come back, I miss you.

So today was much better, thank you everyone for your 'good day' wishes. :) I hope you all had a great weekend, and I'm off to enjoy mine! I have the next two days off, yes!

P.S. A lot of people asked if it was me in the picture from yesterday's post, it was. :-)

Fields of gold.

Model: Keisha B.

An old lady came into my work today took me by the hand and asked me to find her an outfit for her date. I gladly assisted her in finding the perfect shade of blue to match her crystal eyes, and a scarf with such deep beautiful colors as an accessory. Her eyes lit up, she thanked me, and I made her promise to come back in and let me know how her date goes.

It was a 'made me smile' moment.

Everyone should tell me a 'made for smile' moment you've had!

Ten.

Instead of me providing a title, tell me what does this say to YOU?

Thank you to all of the people who are following me, and all of the comments and support!

I've been asked to make this blog a little more personal by a few people, so I'll try to answer any questions that are asked. :-)

When you do choose your picture of the day, is it from a collection of shots you take during the day? Or something planned out...

Really it depends, sometimes I have an idea of what I want, or what feeling/emotion I want to convey so I work on capturing that. Other times, I just see random things that people seem to pass by, that I think should be recognized. The 'planned' out shots are usually my least favorite though, I'm a live in the moment type of girl. :)

Do people ask you to take their picture a lot?

Yes. I get a lot of people coming to me asking for me to do their pictures. I absolutely LOVE working with people, my favorite thing to do is to capture who they are, and what they love. Bringing out someone's personality in a photograph is priceless.

I'll answer more on the next blog! :-)

Nine.

Spare some change?

I'm compassionate by nature, my heart goes out to anyone who has felt pain, or is in pain. I guess once you've been in a dark place, you are more sympathetic to those who are in dark places. I was sitting outside of the mall waiting on Nikki to get off, and I was sitting there with my camera around me neck and all of my stuff scattered around me. Each person that passed stared at me like I was a homeless person ready to ask for some change. Naturally I did what any bad humored person would do, stuck out my hand and asked someone for change...

Just kidding, I didn't, but I did stick my hand out and take this picture. I hope you like it! :-)

No dead ends.

There's always a way out, even if it's stepping back a few paces to find the right path. :-)

I really wanted to use a picture with a model today, but no one was available for a photoshoot on such short notice. Soon though, I promise!

I also can't believe this has been up a WEEK already! Wow how time has flown by. I hope everyone had a great weekend, and I hope that Monday wasn't too horrible to you! See you tomorrow! :)

Repetition.

I know I've posted one with a coffee cup already, I hope it doesn't seem too repetitive, but I liked how this one turned out.

Also a big thank you to http://designbycassandra.blogspot.com/ for featuring my blog. :-) You all are so awesome! Thanks for making me feel welcome, and keeping me inspired.

Colorblind.

I was so scared I wasn't going to be able to post this today! I woke up with just enough time to get ready to go to work, and then didn't get home until almost 11. This one is dedicated to my GM Carmen (who actually originally put this blog idea in my head) and to Old Navy in general. Happy 15th Birthday! :-)

One.

This is called, Alive.

A Photograph a day.

I've heard of 365 books. 365 Albums. I wanted to try something a little different. I see the world as though I am looking through a camera. I see things that would make good pictures, people who I think would look great in pictures, outfits that should be warn, vintage things that shouldn't be forgotten anymore. Everything I see, I see as a picture.

My name is Emily. I'm 22 years young, I don't go to college, I work in retail, I have 2 cats, and I've been with my girlfriend for 3 and 1/2 years.

This is my 365 blog, a photograph a day. A way for you to see life as I see it.

:-)
